Luxury Treasures

I visited once more the Sinebrychoff family’s home museum at Bulevardi.
The family was inmensely rich and they collected antique furniture and art.
The home museum is filled with extremely precious paintings and I’ll share a few of them.

Jan van den Hecke (1620-1684) - Stilleben, between 1636 - 1684

 Rembrandt van Rijn (1606 - 1669) - Reading monk, 1661

Cornelis de Vos (1584 - 1651) - Portrait of two sisters, between 1610 - 1615

 Antoine Watteau (1684 - 1721) - Swing, 1721

Domenico Scarlatti (1685 - 1757), Sonata in a minor K 61
Scarlatti was an Italian composer. Through the history of mankind there has been severe epidemics -
now Italy is hit the worst. I find it great that people are singing in their balconies during lock down.
I wish the world conquers soon this - stay well & safe.

  1. Thanks for sharing. All the chandeliers by itselves, not to mention the valuable paintings. In such moments I would always like to time-travel, just to have a look during their day.

Be careful and take care of yourself, may health will be with you.

    Greetings

  2. What a gorgeous shine from the past and: good, that they have collected paintings!
Some are new to me, but "The swing" I know since my childhood, had it in sa book about Watteau and liked it as a little girl. Scvarlatti is always a big joy.
I see snowflakes on your blog - send you warm spring sun for a good new week

  12. Riitta - how wonderful that the home and its furnishings have been preserved for all to see. Imagine owning a Rembrandt! Thank you for taking the time to link to Mosaic Monday. I think we need our daily and weekly routines to keep us sane during these difficult times.

  15. Wow, that chandelier is a beauty:) The music is lovely - and I had all forgotten about this Italian composer. When I took music lessons he was pretty popular with my teachers. Pleasant surprise, I did not know the Monk of Rembrandt:) I amazes me how many exhibits you visit, Riitta! Of course, I forget you are living in Europe. Many thanks for sharing this beauty with All Seasons! Have a terrific week, Jesh
