Friday Bliss #187 - Sunny Easter!

For Easter I bought this season’s last tulips because soon they will not be available in shops.

They look so sunny with muscaris and make me think of spring.

Fazer’s Mignon eggs are genuine egg shells filled with chocolate.

The founder of the company Karl Fazer began making this classic of the Finnish Easter tradition 

in his factory as early as 1896. The handmade Mignon still tastes almost the same 

as it was when it was born. 

DIY idea: pretty small heart with a tete-a-tete bulb seen at a garden market.

Something Blue

The topic of Makrotex this week is SOMETHING BLUE.

We Finns love blue, but the only thing blue I had at home were 

these wine glasses & glass pebbles. I decorated them with Easter accessories.

Grandson Anton’s hockey team, Kiekko Espoo / Hockey Espoo won 

the U18 Finnish Championship! Above Anton with his parents Nana and Sami.

We are all very proud of him.

Friday Bliss #186 - Sweet Yellow Hyacinths

I’ll share this week beautiful yellow hyacinths and lilac feathers.

I like these complementary colours and my photos have a slight watercolour feeling.

I hope you like! I plant usually the bulbs later in the garden, but propably our winters 

are too cold because they don’t rebloom well.

I have had these green handmade ceramic eggs for years.

Because of the deep snow it has been impossible for me to pick up catkins,

that is why I have in a vase some lilac branches to give spring touch.

Friday Bliss #185 - Easter is Approaching!

Today it is April Fools’ Day, allthough I don’t have any cheating jokes for you…

And Easter is approaching. I don’t plan to buy any new Easter decorations,

because I cannot practically decorate the house due to the kittens.

I bought these green tealight holders, and that’s it.

Tete-a-tete daffodils are a must every year even if they don’t last for a long time -

but they can be planted in the garden.

A couple of years ago I made this feather wreath and it still looks nice.

Friday Bliss #133 - Happy Easter!

I thought to skip yellow today - so I have a tulip mix with lilac feathers

and Easter grass with white bunnies. 

The grass has grown vigorously and has had already many cuts.

In Pastel Tones

The theme of Makrotex is PASTEL TONES. The pompom is peachy

although looks darker. The old plate is Arabia’s Kesäkukka / Summer Flower. 

This pattern was in production in 1939-47. I have herited a few from my grandmom.

Friday Bliss # 132 - Yellow Hyacinths

I connect hyacinths to Christmas, but as yellow they are perfect spring flowers.

Recently I had a pot with three bulbs and they bloomed wonderfully 

spreading their scent around our home. I took a few photos with Easter decorations.

I plant the bulbs in the garden, but for some reason they don’t thrive.
