Rainy Garden Walk

The whole week has been unstable, rainy & windy with occasional sunshine.

Not very warm either. I walked through my wet garden this morning and 

took a few photos. As it was rainy, they are not bright.

My long lilac hedges steel the show this week - they look very beautiful.

I have also long hedges of Spiraea chamaedryfolia and they will soon be in full bloom.

Wish you have better weather than Finland!

Pretty in Pink

Once more about this beauty:

Years ago I arranged a plant / seedling exhange happening in my garden. One of the guests, a clematis enthusiast Timo, donated me a tiny clematis seedling. It has proved to be enourmously vigorous and strong. It is a seedling of Clematis Constance and is pretty pink and flowers abundantly. It grows up till 7 meters along the ladders of our house. The only disadvantage is that its branches get very messy and I cut the plant down very often but there she is again - reaching the sky.... Clematis on the Web says it is semi-double, but mine is not. It is not a pure variety and must have been cross-pollinated with some other variety. Allthough messy, beautiful she is!

It is so cold and windy & rainy! I’ll take a warm blanket and put my woollen socks on.

Reading is the best today - I do wish that June brings summer temperatures!

Messy Constance

Clematis Constance is pretty pink and very strong, but oh so messy! It grows up till 7 meters along the ladders of our house. I cut it down very often but there she is again - reaching the sky.... I got this seedling of Constance from a clematis enthusiast. Clematis on the Web says it is semi-double, but mine is not. I don’t know with which clematis it has been cross-pollinated.
