Linnanmäki amusement park in Helsinki has been celebrating its Carnival of Light during the last week. I visited the carnival on Saturday night with family. The night was warm, no rain and thus the park was packed with people. I’m kind of a tenderfoot but took one ride in the spooky train. We had so much fun!
Linnanmäki = LINTSI (literal translation Castle's Hill) was opened in 1950 and is owned by non-profit Lasten Päivän Säätiö (Children's Day Foundation), which operates the park in order to raise funds to Finnish child welfare work. In 2017, the foundation donated a total of 4.5 million euros. Annually the park is visited by over 1 million guests. Linnanmäki is the biggest & most popular amusement park in Finland. It has many rides of different sizes. It also has other attractions, such as arcades, games, kiosks, restaurants and an outdoor stage on which different performers appear in the summer.
