Makrotex - Summer / Kesä

Lately we have not had any summer temperatures: not eating on the terrace, not reading outside.

But the hopes are high that the summer really starts this week - with temperatures over 25C!

Strawberries belong to my summer. So far they are imported 

but soon we can buy sweet local ones! And soon it is the time for garden bouquets, too.
This is only a quick miniature version to decorate my strawberries...

Friday Bliss #17 - Summer Green

i am sad to say that this stunning hedge of white Syringa josikae 

is not mine but my neighbour’s. It decorates my walking route at the end of June, 

is 4 meters high and full of flowers. A beautiful sight!

I don’t usually succeed in photographing butterflies but here a few photos of 

Peacock butterfly - to bring you summer mood.

Kesämuistoja - Summer Memories

As many of you know I did not have too many happy moments outside in the garden

due to my bad ankle injury - still using crunches.
But nevertheless there were flowers! I made a few collages out of my hundreds of photos.

And of course there were cherries and strawberries in all forms!

There was nothing to complain about the skies either - the rainbow is from 2017,

because it was sunny & hot - no rain :)

Summer Memories

This summer was rare and odd: the hottest summer in a century.
My own summer was alike. 

Until I broke my ankle, I enjoyed being outdoors from morning till night.

After that my summer was filled with books and just admiring the flowers.

So, in these circumstances did not get much garden or household work done. In May
we got our terrace painted, it looks so fine and fresh and awaits ready for the next spring.

It’s hard to choose the photos from abundance.
Hope these will give you the idea of my summer.

Skål to Summer!

Puutarhassa on aina vaikka miten paljon nysväämistä, mutta olen yrittänyt pitää myös laiskoja nautintopäiviä. Keräsin tarjottimelle tuoksuvan pienen syreenikimpun, kivaa luettavaa ja namia naposteltavaa. Ja eikun terassille!

There is always a lot to do in the garden but I have tried also to enjoy lazy days outdoors. I gathered on a tray a bit of fragrance, good reading and delicious strawberries - and out to terrace!

Puutarha on paratiisi Sissillekin. Se haluaa ulos oravia ja lintuja väijymään monta kertaa päivässä. Haluaisin kuvata sitä nätissä miljöössä, kukkien keskellä, mutta ei se suostu. Paras paikka tutkailla pihapiirin elämää on harmaa laattapolku.

The garden is paradise also for Sissi. She wants to go ambushing birds and squirrels many times a day! She is a very stubborn cat lady. I would want her to lay down among the flowers to get a pretty picture, but no. Only gray stonepath is good for her.

Recently I attended the 2nd Kirja vieköön! literature evening of this year.

The guest writers on the stage were interesting, including Koko Hubara,

a multiethnic brown girl, writer, journalist and blogger at her 

blog Ruskeat tytöt / Brown Girls.
