My April artist is Millin. There is a play of words in her pseudonym. I try to explain so that you understand. Milli = millimetre; Millin = millimetre's; vakka = an old wooden container or bushel. So her blog is called Millin vakka - Milli's bushel!
They say that inside every person there lives a little artist. In the autumn 2012 one of these little artists wanted an 1 cm brush or a tiny pen with which to draw 1 mm long lines. This little artist wanted also so much to show these mm lines to others. So she started a blog - and this is how it all started.
Millin has written a lovely poem, unfortunately the lovely rhymes don't translate into English but here is the content: Once upon time there was a joyful old woman, called Millin. She had an old bushel and a tiny red house with a fireplace. The best pictures she fastened on the wall, others she guarded in her bushel. Millin would have such a happy smile on her face if her pictures would bring joy to others too.
Sanotaan että jokaisen sisällä asuu pieni taiteilija. Syksyllä 2012 yksi näistä pienistä halusi sentin sudin ja kynän jolla piirtää millin viivoja. Ja halusi niitä näyttää toisillekin, joten hän perusti oman blogin, näin se alkoi:
Oli kerran iloinen akka.
nimeltään Millin ja vakka,
punainen tupa ja takka.
Parhaan kuvat seinään hakkaa,
loput säilöön vakkaan nakkaa.
Hymysuin hän olla vois,
iloa jos ne toisille tois.
I enjoy creativity and new ideas make me excited. For me art is a means to keep depression away, that's why I prefer to spread positiveness and joy.
Nautin luovuudesta ja innostun uusiin ideoihin. Minulle taide on keino pitää masennus loitolla, siksi luon mieluimmin positiivisuuta ja iloa.
Yesterday - Eilen
Creativity is in my genes. Doing things with my hands came from mother's milk. I have done a lot of things: from clothes to furniture; from furs to wood working; from ceramics to felt-making. But there is still a lot to experiment, but porcelain painting I don't even consider! I have participated in some art courses and joint exhibitions.
Luovuus on on geeneissäni. Käsillä tekemisen taidon sain äidinmaidossa. Monenlaista on tullut tehtyä, vaatteista huonekaluihin; turkiksista puusorvauksiin; keramiikasta huovutukseen. Vaan vielä on paljon kokeilematta, mutta posliinimaalausta en edes harkitse! Olen osallistunut muutamiin taidekursseihin ja yhteisnäyttelyihin.
Today - Tänään
Blogging brings joy and wonderful friends, some I have met even in real life. I enjoy so much The Theme Monthly Challenge, the enthusiasm and ideas of blog friends are inspiring. In addition to art I am now interested in photographing and digital manipulation. I love to experiment everything new.
Bloggaaminen tuo iloa ja ihania ystäviä, osaan olen saanut tutustua aivan livenäkin. Teemakuun haasteesta nautin, blogikaverien innokkuus kannustaa ja ideat inspiroivat. Taiteen lisäksi nyt kiinnostaa digimuokkaus ja valokuvaus. Kokeilen mielelläni kaikkea uutta.

I am confident that there shall still be a lot of ideas when work does not anymore impede hobbies. I wish to have more time for photographing and for my garden, maybe for my own exhibition.

Ideoita varmasti riittää vielä kun työ ei enää haittaa harrastuksia. Toivon ehtiväni enemmän valokuvaamaan ja puutarha hoitamaan. Ehkäpä jopa oma näyttelykin.
