Discreet Fun

In Makrotex Challenge we are having fun this week!
I’ll share a few photos of my grandson’s confirmation. The church part was of course
dignified & touching with all these young boys and girls at their 15s.

The confirmation took place in a modern Lutheran church of Olari, Espoo near Helsinki.
The church was built in 1981 and designed by architects Simo and Käpy Paavilainen.
The outside of the building is modern & of red brick but inside is white and airy.

The celebration & party took place at the home of this handsome young man Anton,
every mother’s dream for a son-in-law in the future! He is a very talented ice hockey player
and all the family is proud of his achievements.
Meeting the family is always fun, we had delicious summer salads and strawberry cake -
and we laughed a lot. A lot!

Wishing you all a wonderful Midsummer week!

  2. Riitta - a lovely church. My husband and I are currently attending church in a gymnasium because our church had a fire. We work hard to focus, but it does remind us why we have churches - they do help bring us into the right frame of mind to be close to God! Thanks for sharing this special occasion with all of us at Mosaic Monday!

  3. Dearest ritta K; Oh My!!! First of all, Congratulations for your grandson's Confirmation. The church looks really solemn and I was SO impressed by the atmosphere as this is my first chance to see the ceremony. The church has the Great Color Contrast with red and white. I LOVE the handsome young boy♪
In Japan, at the age of 20 we have "coming-of-age ceremony" held at the place like Citizen's Hall.
Thank you so much for introducing us this solemn ceremony.
Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*
