This April week...

1 Monte Carlo Rolex Masters
I'm a keen watcher of ATP tennis. This week the tournament of Monte Carlo is on. And what a lovely setting they have there! Lately I've been a bit annoyed because Novac Djokovic (ranking nr 1) wins it all. But now he has lost and so has Tomas Berdych (ranking nr 7). Therefore there will be much more interest. It is impossible to guess the winner - wether it is Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal or Stan Wawrinka...

2 Puss in Boots
When I was a child one of my favourite fairy tales was Puss in Boots. It is a very old story, you can read more in the link. Our cat Sissi reminds me of him because Sissi has awaken into spring and wants to go out all the time to frighten the spring birds! So I have to walk her in the leash many times a day in the garden. It is fun though :)

Cape Horn

3 Stefan Moster - a German writer
Die Unmöglichkeit des vierhändigen Spiels (klick)
Unfortunately this book is available only in Finnish (Moster lives in Finland and translates Finnish literature) and German, as a tip for you German readers. Translated into English it might be The impossibility of playing the piano by two / double. The book tells about a mother and son who work on a luxury cruiser. The cruiser visited at first all the Mediterranean harbours and then sailed to South America. It would be a Dream!!! to see that route! Need to win a lottery at first :)

Viola cornuta 'Sorbet'
Viola cornuta 'Black delight'
4 Growing out of seeds
Viola cornuta, Verbena bonariensis & Nicotiana x sanderae
This spring I don't grow a lot out of seeds. My Viola cornutas look pretty good! Then of course herbs...

5 Garden plants progress slowly
Practically no blooming yet in the garden. But this funny hairy Meconopsis grandis is growing so nicely! Just have to wait appr 2,5 months to see this fantastic blue flower!

Linking with Amy's Five on Friday and Cath's Fun Friday Favourites

Wishing you all a lovely spring weekend!

As you may realize many photos were borrowed online...

  1. Wow, so beautiful violas! And the meconopsis - is it hardly enough for winter outdoor? It looks very exotic...
I lile the Puss in Boots too and my cat is a big hunter and would never go in the leash, oh no!
Never heard about Stefan Moster before, but I find at amazon a few book, thanks for the tip and have a nice weekend

    1. I have had this Meconopsis several years outdoors. It does not spread though in my garden. But that shade of blue is something else! Have a lovely weekend Mascha ♥

  4. I love watching the tennis too but can't get the Monte Carlo matches. Djokovic has done so well but it is good to see others have a chance to win this time. Your flower photos are wonderful and the meconopsis is just spectacular! :-)

    1. Roger Federer lost to Joe-Wilfried Tsonga... Now starting Gael Monfils vs Marcel Granollers. I'm for Monfils to win, I'm his fan :))

  14. Blue flowers are so rare, and yours is lovely. How I envy all the expert gardeners who contribute to Five on Friday. I'm very good at growing weeds, but not all the "good stuff".
