Paris is a romantic city.
Albert Edelfelt is one of our most famous painters.
He lived and worked in Paris in the late 1800.

Virginie was his model and mistress - but their lovestory did not have a happy end.

@ Sarah ---- Thank you for your comments! I don't consider myself as a very romantic person but roses and Paris are always ♥♥♥
So romantic, your beautiful images are making me swoon! I shall have to see if I can get a copy of the book, Virginie. Love the Snow Pavement rose, so beautiful.
VastaaPoistaMM is experiencing a few teething problems this week, possibly because I'm in a strange location (the UK Midlands)and the internet is slooow! So glad you were able to join in this week.
Maggie, sad to say that Virginie is only available in Finnish and is now sold out. It was a fascinating book and told also a lot about France and women's unindependent position at that time - women were practically owned by men. Thank you for your comment.
PoistaI agree --- Romantic wins the day! Gorgeous images. Love your crazy quilting and the gorgeous oil painting by your Father in law ... what treasures! Happy Monday! Have a great week!
VastaaPoistaRitta, thanks for sharing your romantic images. I love the chandelier, the flowers and the book. Sylvia D.
