It has been a few weeks since I last joined in Amy's Five on Friday. Nothing much has happened - summer, garden and wet weather. But I'll share with you my five things.
1. Summer bouquets
I have been participating in a weekly linkup Flower Joy - Kukkailottelua. Because the cat munches everything, I keep my bouquets on the terrace.
2. Books
It has rained a lot - so I have found time to read too. Recently I read a few fantastic novels by the US born Canadian Carol Shields. I fell in love and certainly shall search for more.
The Stone Diaries ★★★★★
The Box Garden ★★★★
I certainly recommend! A link to my reviews is on the right side bar.
3. Grandson's confirmation party
He is nearly 190 cm and very thin, a handsome young man. My son's family lives one hour drive from us and the countryside was so beautiful.
4. Some painting
My husband is painting the house. The work goes slowly because it rains nearly every day.... I painted our terrible looking garden chairs... They are not so disgusting any more...
5. Garden & clematis
This is not a good clematis year in my garden but anyway some are blooming.

VastaaPoistaKiitos, samoin sinulle Piipe.
PoistaI enjoy seeing your lovely flowers and am glad you had a happy celebration of your handsome grandson's confirmation. I hope your painting dries well in between the rain showers!
VastaaPoistaSounds like you've had a great week full of colour just as it should be! :-)
VastaaPoistaA great week indeed Karen in spite of the weather :)
PoistaLove the idea of the flower link up, will pop over and see. Your son lives in a beautiful part of the world too
VastaaPoistaLindo e belo bouquet de flores.
VastaaPoistaUm abraço e bom fim de semana.
Andarilhar
Obrigado e bom fim de semana.
PoistaA lovely five Riitta. Bet you loved seeing your handsome grandson and such beautiful countryside. Like the sound of the carol shields book. Will have to look that one out. Your bench is looking good. My husband has just painted an old one of ours shocking pink! I will feature it in my next garden post. Have a great weekend. B x
VastaaPoistaSchocking pink!!! I can't wait to see it! Have a nice weekend Barbara.
PoistaOh yes I very handsome Grandson indeed! Your garden chairs look wonderful, we have had very similar weather here too - where is summer? Have a great weekend xx
VastaaPoistaYour five this week are beautiful, good choice! If you like to make mosaics with your pictures then I hope you'll find time to join me for Mosaic Monday when I take over as host on August 1st.
VastaaPoistaMaggie @ Normandy Life
Ok Maggie - I'll keep the Mosaic Monday in mind. Have a great weekend.
PoistaSounds like a busy time. The chairs look wonderful. It's surprising what a coat of paint can do.
VastaaPoistaHave a lovely weekend
kaunis viisikko!
VastaaPoistaThe bouquets are so pretty (and yes, I know all about kitties that munch). It's been years since I read The Stone Diaries .. I may have to read it again. Your grandson is a handsome young man -- congratulations on his confirmation. Lovely, fun post.
VastaaPoistaI loved The Stone Diaries. It is always great to find a new great writer. Happy weekend Snap!
PoistaAs ususal your photos are wonderful. You capture such clarity in the colours especially of the flowers and the yellow field is stunning. Have a lovely weekend:)
VastaaPoistaHieno sarja - ihastuin etenkin kukkakimppu-osioon :)
VastaaPoista1. Summer bouquets.
Ihania buketteja enkä usko, että nuo upeat tuolit ovat voineet koskaan näyttää kauheilta. Kaunis... ja komea postaus! :)
VastaaPoistaKiitos Sara - mukavaa viikonloppua!
PoistaPretty garden chairs! And all the rain on beautiful flowers... - (with us the same)
VastaaPoistaBy the way: at last book flea market I bought "El juego del angel" by C. Ruiz Zafon, but I've still not read it. I read so slowly... Now I'm curious and will begin it at next.
Send you a little sunshine
It looks as though your clematis have done much better than ours did this year, even our Montana didn't do that well compared to some years. Oh well, as gardeners we know they will come back another year don't we! Congratulations to your Grandson on his confirmation, a lovely occasion for you to get together and celebrate! Thank you for joining Five On Friday, I hope you have a great weekend! xx
VastaaPoistaLovely flowers. Great job on the patio chairs. Congratulations to your handsome grandson! Hope you have a nice weekend.
VastaaPoistaI'm visiting from Amy's Five on Friday. I live in the countryside of Oregon, USA. I live in a 100 year old farmhouse and raise chickens and our son, DIL and 2 grandsons live with us. Great photos you posted! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
VastaaPoistaThe flowers are just lovely and that yellow field is awesome, too!
VastaaPoistaI love your beautiful photos, particularly of plants. What a handsome grandson!
VastaaPoistaI love your flower photos. Some are familiar, but others are totally foreign, so I enjoy them very much. You have a gift for mixing the colors.
