I was lucky to visit this stunning rhododendron and azalea jungle in June
with two healthy feet! I have posted already about my visit, but the park is really great.
Hope you’ll enjoy some new photos of it. Links to the previous posts are at the end.

...was in the nursery business for 50 years before I recently retired. Rhododendron from the University of Helsinki's plant breeding program have become popular in the US.
VastaaPoistaSo nice to know Tom - they are hardy in the US conditions similar to us. For instance ’Haaga’, ‘Helsinki University’, ‘St. Michel’, ‘P.M.A. Tigerstedt’, and ’Pekka’.
PoistaMe encanta, está precioso. Besitos.
VastaaPoistaBesitos - buen semana.
PoistaOh how magnificent... so many colours. A paradise of Rhododendrons :D)
VastaaPoistaThe scent around azaleas was something indescribable - a fairy butterfly garden <3
PoistaWow! What a beautiful garden to walk through!
VastaaPoistaIt really is. But you have to be right with the timing, because the withering may start overnight.
PoistaWhen we lived in Cleveland, Ohio, we were fortunate to live near Holden Arboretum, which had a large collection of azaleas and rhodies. It was a favorite destination in the spring, and your pictures brought back very fond memories. I am pleased you brought this color to Mosaic Monday this week!
VastaaPoistaI wonder how this large area managed in the last summer’s heat and draught. It must have been impossible to water the whole area. The azaleas were really stunning bright and very scented, the huge rhodos already in a withering phase.
PoistaWOW ... wonderful Riitta! This really looks like a Rhododendron-Jungle!
VastaaPoistaHave a great and happy new week, Love and hugs, Claudia xo
What a colourful park...sooner or later I must visit it too!
VastaaPoistaHave a nice new week, Riitta.
How beautiful. I love a pictures so much...
VastaaPoistaHei

Vivi
A lovely place to walk - nice images.
VastaaPoistaThanks for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2018/11/preparing-for-winter.html
beautiful garden.
VastaaPoistaWhat a beautiful place to visit, Riitta. I didn't know that rhododendrons would survive a Finnish winter.
VastaaPoistaAll varieties don’t survive our winters. That is why Helsinki University has breeded hardy varieties such as for instance ’Haaga’, ’Helsinki University’, ’St. Michel’, ‘P.M.A. Tigerstedt’, and ’Pekka’.
PoistaThere are fantastic captures, Riita. I enjoyed each scene of this wonderful area. Rhododendron are so much colourful and lovely.
VastaaPoistaWhat a delight! Once upon a time I lived near the rhododendron garden in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. It was a treat to walk among the flowers.
VastaaPoistaOh Riitta!
VastaaPoistaThe azalea, rhododendron park is fantastic.
Thank you very much that I could see him.
Hugs, greetings.
