Friday Bliss #182 - Soft Spring Colours

I saw this beautiful bouquet at a garden center with white parrot tulips

and wonderful lilac hyacinths - I have never before seen this shade!

In Finland the spring keeps us waiting: we got a bit of new snow,

but over the weekend it will be sunny and up to +7 C. Hopefully the snow starts to melt.

The other day a young goshawk paid a visit. At first it sat on the trellis outside 

my livingroom window, then flew a bit farther away. Not a great photo, but for evidence.

Last April I got a better photo of a bigger goshawk.

Krapu w 10 - Those were the Days!

OI NIITÄ AIKOJA!

- Kato mummi, miten yök olohuone! Aivan oksettavat värit!

- Onhan se vähän turhan raskas ja tunkkainen, mutta juuri tuo oli muotia 70-luvulla. Ukilla ja mummilla oli samanlaista: vihreät ja ruskeat seinät ja verhoina Marimekon Unikkoa. 

Lämmin kaipaava läikähdys tuntuu sydänalassa, kun Veeran ajatus siirtyy avioliiton alkuvuosiin. Oltiin niin rakastuneita, juotiin halpaa punkkua ja Unto näppäili kitaraansa. 

Nyt Veera istuu avaran valkoisen kotinsa olohuoneessa ja käy läpi tavaroitaan. Edessä on muutto pienempään. Harmillista, että kodin irtain ei kelpaa kenellekään. Nykynuoret eivät säästä tavaraa ’siltä varalta jos'. Onneksi tyttärentytär kelpuuttaa ukin kitaran ja häälahjaksi saadun seinäkellon. Jotain sentään jää heistäkin.

THOSE WERE THE DAYS!

 - Look Granny, how awful living room! The colors make me vomit!

- It is a bit oppressive and stuffy, but that's exactly what was fashionable in the 70's. Grandpa and Grandma had the same thing: green and brown walls and Marimekko’s Poppy as curtains. 

Veera feels a warm longing dash in the chest as her thoughts move into the early years of her marriage. They were so in love, sipping cheap read wine while Unto played his guitar. 

Now Veera is sitting in the living room of her spacious white home and going through her belongings. She is going to move to a smaller flat. It’s a pity that no one wants her things. Today’s young people don’t save stuff ‘just in case’. Fortunately, the granddaughter accepts the guitar and the wall clock that they got as wedding present. There is something left of them after all.

Congratulations to Essi!

 

Over the weekend we celebrated the 10th birthday of our adorable Essi.

After a week of terryfying world news it was wonderful to meet family.

I wish Essi and other grandkids have a bright future in a world in peace.

The cake was delicious and beautiful, baked by a 16-years old family friend.

Happy International Women’s Day!
