Spring Weather

On Monday it was freezing cold with the temperature around minus 17 C. 

Today it feels like spring with + 6 C and bright sunshine! The drawback is that 

the pure white snow is now dirty & ugly and there is nothing beautiful to photograph. 

Yet some quick shots from my walk this afternoon.

One house has a long low stonewall along the road and there were

almost 10 ice lanterns on it. Must be a beautiful sight in the evening.

I have published this ice cake or wreath earlier but once more,

so that I have something beautiful to share!

But while I was writing and complaining, through the window I saw a rainbow!

It was clear and big but did not last long. I wish it is a sign of something really good.

January Mix

The January temperatures have been fluctuating between zero and minus 10 C.

Next night - 20 C, then again warmer.

There has been sunny days and grey snowy days, short & slow days.

I made an ’ice cake’ using a cake mold and withering hyacinths. As there is a hole 

in the middle the cake can also be hanged outdoors. The day was dark, so I photographed 

the cake with a candle in the middle. Next day outdoors it was buried in snow :DD

I just listened as audiobooks these novels by Japanese Mieko Kawakami 

Breasts and Eggs and Heaven. Warmly recommend.

UNIMAAILMOJA

Selma kavahti unestaan hereille, istahti kauhusta jäykkänä peilipöydän tuolille ja tuijotti kuvaansa. Kesken jääneen eroottisen unen sirpaleet leijuivat hiljalleen hänen tajuntaansa. Unessa hän oli rakastellut intohimoisesti Redraman kanssa. Redraman, jota hän ei pitänyt millään tavalla seksikkäänä! Hän, seitsemänkymppinen vanha nainen!

Selma veti kulahtaneen silkkisen aamutakin ylleen ja laahusti keittiöön - nyt olisi vahvan kahvin paikka. Hänen unimaailmansa oli vilkasta. Hän muistaa kerran havahtuneensa keskellä kaameinta trilleriä, jossa hän kiipesi hädissään pilvenpiirtäjän loputtomia portaita ylös kannoillaan murhanhimoinen ex-mies. Kohtaus oli kuin suoraan Hitchcockin elokuvista. Tämäkin uni päättyi kesken ja Selma heräsi sydän tykytttäen tietämättä jäikö henkiin vai ei.

DREAMWORLDS

Selma woke up from her sleep, sat shocked & rigidly on the dresser chair staring at her face. The fragments of erotic sleep left in the middle slowly hovered in her consciousness. In the dream she had made love to Redrama. Redrama, who she didn't consider sexy in any way! She, an old woman in her seventies!

Selma put on the worn-out silky morning gown and shuffled into the kitchen - now it would be time for strong coffee. Her dreamworld was lively. She remembers once waking up in the middle of the most horrible thriller where she climbed up the endless stairs of a skyscraper with the murderous ex-man on her heels. The scene was like straight from Hitchcock’s movies. Even this dream ended unfinished and Selma woke up with her heart palpitating, not knowing if she survived or not.
