T in die neue Woche

These are old photos of the door to my home.

I am not especially fond of that fake spruce garland, but my husband once was:)

Fortunately he has forgotten its existence!

The bars on the narrow window are because of our cat Sissi.

She spends hours at the window watching birds. Tervetuloa means Welcome.

This is not a Christmas song, but the video was filmed at Turku Cathedral.
Jarkko Ahola is a performing artist, a composer and a singer.

He is the vocalist and bass player and one of the three songwriters of

the heavy metal band Teräsbetoni.

Friday Bliss #65 - Blue & White

Today we celebrate in Finland our102nd Independence Day.
The festivities of the day include military parades, the honoring of the heroes of war and
a reception at the Presidential Palace organized by the President of the Republic of Finland.
Finnish embassies & offices abroad also organize similar receptions.

Many European countries celebrate today St. Nicholas' Day and
Spain celebrates La Constitución española ratified after Franco on Dec 6 1978.

BLUE & WHITE are beloved patriotic colors to us Finns. For today I searched for photos
that symbolize Finnishness to me: blue sky, pure snow, blue & white flowers,
midsummer roses, sprouting birches, pines, spruces & forest, ...

Finland is Finnish and Finland is Swedish

Finland is Sami and also Finglish.

Finland is far away and Finland is near,
