Elokuun tunnelmia

Aconitum lycoctonum subsp.neapolitanum - Etelänukonhattu
Elokuu on alkanut ihanana.

The first week of August has been wonderful. We have had rain but not all the time. In between beautiful sunshine and warm weather. The atmosphere in the garden starts to feel like late summe, even the scent is different. Through the lens I saw these.

Clematis Viola
Phlox paniculata - Syysleimuja

Ligularia przewalskii - Valtikkanauhus

Unknown Veronica - Tuntematon tädyke

Sorbus koehneana - Helmipihlaja

Pterocarya rhoifolia - Japaninsiipipähkinä

Sorbus aucuparia - Kotipihlaja

Phlox paniculata - Syysleimu

Outdoor Activity - Our Beautiful World

This Sunday's topic at Our Beautiful World - Outdoor Activity - was chosen by me. I am an outdoor person but we do have our seasons in Finland! The freezing and snowy winter is pretty much confined to indoors - limited to short walks and shoveling the snow! But the spring and summer are euphoric seasons and for me a constant outdoor activity!

I love to walk in the woods and in the nature...

DH has had this kind of outdoor activity this summer - painting the house!

In our neighbourhood there is this fantastic recreational area with a lake and beautiful old trees. Unfortunately it was a cloudy day, so the photos don't show the true beauty. There were many large areas with wild white water lilies on the surface.

The water lilies looked fantastic but were too far away for close shots...

I found this sauna grass roof very pretty...

This fun I had with my sons dogs, Pineapple and Cocos last autumn...

Taking a look at the Finnish winter - almost buried in the snow.
Clearly being outdoors is limited!

The next Sunday's topic is BRIDGE.
Come and join us and have fun!

Phlox Delight

Phlox Delight for joanna ♥

We got some heavy rain - so had to content with the photos I had... The white phlox is very pretty in the photo, in the real life I like better that with a hint of pink.

The lilac phlox is called Syringa phlox. It is a very old traditional phlox. I did not find its specific latin name, not other than Phlox paniculata... It is very tall & slender and bends in the slightest rain and has pretty small flowers.

All brighter phlox varieties I have donated to my daughter-in-law.
