Friday Bliss #119 - Merry Christmas!

I bought this high metal jug at Koiramäen pajutalli and put there
one red amaryllis with pine branches and some decorations.
The combinaton pleases me very much and it was great to follow how the blooms opened.

With these photos I want to wish you
Merry Christmas ❤︎ Frohe Weihnachten ❤︎ Buon Natale ❤︎ Feliz Navidad ❤︎ Hyvää joulua

Club for Five (CFF) is a contemporary a cappella group from Finland.
They are known for their unique singing style. Club for Five was founded in Helsinki in 2001.

When the snow covers the land and the lakes are frozen
and the sun has closed its eyes,
When the swallow is far, far away
and the forest deserted, without a song,
There's a warm breath in the winter weather,
As it is Christmas, as it is Christmas!

This link shall be open for two weeks, until Tuesday 29th December.
The next Friday Bliss shall open on New Year's Eve, Thursday 31st Dec.

Wandering December Thoughts...

I was walking today along the local river and the neighbourhood for 1,5 hours.
It was quiet and the weather was lovely: no wind and around zero. I saw only a few persons
and my thoughts wandered back and forth. Mostly I miss snow.

The nature’s art works on the river looked fantastic...

A snowfall would beautify the views...

It would be nice if white snow blanket covered the brown grass...

It would also be so nice if Mr. and Mrs. Duck had it warmer...

Woudn’ it be great if all the spruces were decorated as Christmas trees?

Like this!

I’m glad there are still some others to be seen on my walkway!
At one spot I smelled smoke, but its source was not dangerous, but a Christmassy one.
I’ll tell you about it later.  Take your D-vitamins & enjoy the Advent - outdoors!

About Finnish Elves

Today some elves and other decorations for you. Back in the good old days
the Finns believed in guardian spirits known as elves and each elf had his/her special area
to protect. There were house elves, sauna elves, mill elves, barn elves, cowshed elves and stall elves.
In return, these elves required little food, a right of residence or the last steam from the sauna.
The above tiny elves live on my spice shelf in the kitchen.

There exists even a book by Mauri Kunnas about our bygone elfin past.

I made this high chestnut cone about 20 years ago and it looks still brand new.
The beige Santa Claus looking guy is my House Elf.

My House Elf wanted to send one of his guardian elves to you, too
in order to guarantee you a peaceful & safe Christmas.
So grab yours! This edit is made from the above photo.

Me and my elves wish you happy Advent!
