Yesterday I had a doctor’s appointment in the center of Helsinki.
It was past noon but the mist still prevailed. The city looked like a ghost town -
quite appropriate for Halloween weekend! The photos are not that great, taken through
the windshield. But you get the idea how spooky it looked.
I think I have never seen similar in Helsinki.
SELMA IS NOW 8 WEEKS AND WEIGHS AROUND 1000 G.
There are obviously ’stones’ in my left salivary gland. Yesterday the doctor promised
a surgery before Christmas. After hearing this, I begged him for a prompt surgery saying that
our kitten will arrive in December. Both the doctor and the nurse smiled broadly!
But I was later informed that the surgery will be in 2,5 weeks! This is great news
because my jaw & cheek are aching considerably. But thinking of Selma keeps my spirit up!

Wir denken oft an Selma mit einem Mann. Der Züchter veröffentlicht jeden Donnerstag auf seiner Seite auf FB neue Bilder. Ich bin froh, so schnell operiert zu werden. Wegen des Coronavirus gibt es überall im Gesundheitswesen lange Wartezeit. LG, riitta

PoistaUiiiii..."The Fog" and you know what...I have the sound of a foghorn in my ear/mind *gg* Looks a bit spooky, but also interesting to see when the buildings disappear. Like the pics, but more cute Selma. For sure she will keep your spirits up. Not good to read about the stones, but good that you got the appointment so soon. Hopefully you can be home soon after the surgery.

Nowadays I go seldom to the city, as I live 20 km north. It looked really interesting as the high buildings vanished in the mist. I am so looking forward to the surgery as I am feeling sick. And of course adorable Selma <3

PoistaThat mist is crazy!! We went to that church and that park. I loved Helsinki. We had a lot of fun. So your pics made me smile at the memories, though it all feels so long ago and far away now. Sad! We shall see in April what the travel status is. For now we are staying local...

The ’estate’ is called Klippan = The Rocks and there is a summer restaurant, very popular venue for weddings for example. Happy Halloween.

VastaaPoistaThe fog looked amazing when the high buildings vanished high up. Thank you Jesh, I feel better today. The doctor tried to get the stone away and probably it moved a bit, practically no aching today. Of course it is still swollen. Happy Halloween.

VastaaPoistaTrue, fog can look very spooky, but I also find it atmospheric. We were traveling with our friends for three days in Upper Austria this week, and there was sometimes heavy fog along the Danube and on the autobahn. It looked especially nice when the sun came out and we photographed the last streaks of fog from a lookout :-)
Your kitten is so adorable - I am not surprised that the thought of Selma keeps your spirit up! And I wish you all the best for your surgery!

PoistaOf course the kitten steals the (photo) show. Hope your dental surgery goes well. I was surprised to read that Helsinki never gets fog like this. It's quite common in this part of the world. Very spooky looking, you are right!
