Memories from Florence

Florence was filled with stairs. Exceptionally this one had a reiling!
I visited so many museums and palazzos that I am not quite sure from where they are.
Maybe from Casa Buonarroti? I went there to see the ceiling panel by Artemisia Gentileschi.
Did not take many photos, only these.

The panels were amazing, covering the whole ceiling. This lady is Artemisia’s work.

Perhaps portrait of Michelangelo...

  1. So let’s go up...ok, I did, and what I saw was very impressive. These photos alone show how much taste there was, and I finde the paintings and exhibits simply amazing. I personally like them much better than the modern style of today.

Thanks for taking with you and also for the T into the new week.

    Greetings and hugs

    Take care and stay healthy

    1. Casa Buonbarroti was impressive & beautiful. One could easily imagine the ancient inhabitants there. There was not much light inside, so the photos turned unsharp.

    1. I experinced a sort of Stendahl syndrome in Florence during my short visit a year ago! So much to see and as I had planned my trip well, I experiencd a lot in just four days.

Those days are gone now, no one knows for how long...

  5. So beautiful. The only problem with Florence, I found, is that there was so much incredible art to see that you become rather overloaded by it and don't quite appreciate how spectacular it really is!

  7. Hi Elke,

There were not always reilings and a LOT of stairs in the old buildings. In Boboli Gardens no reilings and I am afraid of heights. Was all the time afraid of falling down!

  9. We travel via our memories these days, don't we? And they are wonderful. The Casa Buonarroti looks like a beautiful place to explore. Just one year ago I was in sunny Spain with a group of students. It seems so long ago already. How the world has changed.

  10. Ah, so much art - I would be in heaven:) and such diversity! My guess is that if you would live there, eventually you would get used to stairs. In Holland 99% of the houses have stairs, but coming back to our new house with stairs after 35 years, it took me a few weeks not to think about falling:) Many thanks for sharing these ceiling with All Seasons and the other images - amazing! Have a lovely week, Jesh

  14. I'm afraid of heights so a place with lots of stars wouldn't be the best place for me to visit. But the photos make it look like a lovely place. - Margy
