Charming Blooming June

My neighbourhood is eclectic as to housing. The properties used to be bigger,
but during the recent years they have been divided. So, there are old houses with old gardens
and new, very modern houses with smaller, recently planted gardens.
This diversity makes my neighbourhood interesting, not at all monotonous.
Right now trees and shrubs pamper the eye.

I don’t know the history behind this sad sight. Around this house there is a spruce hedge.
Fore some reason it has not been cut properly, and when the spruces then shadowed
way too much, they have cut them in this ugly way...

The rock'n'roll classic Summertime Blues from 1958 by Eddie Cochran (1938-1960)
and Jerry Capehart. Cochran died tragically in a car accident at the age of 21.

  1. Wonderful blooming summertime and: I had not known, that E.Cochran had such an early dead, always heard the music...
Behind my garden fence are 12 of spruces, only 2m high and without branches, it looks like after an atomic war, but the owner lives higher on the mountain and never can see them... I see it every day, sigh!
Stay healthy and enjoy the time

  2. It’s different to us. Mostly you don’t see anything of the gardens becaus they are hidden behind the house. In front of houses they were sometimes flowers in potts, but when a door ist open it can be exciting to have a look behind. In my neighbourhood I can see "behind" because I am looking down the hill. Most of the garden are only used by planting fruits, salats and so on. Like us, sitting in there is rare. They are using their terrace or the garage ;-)

Have a good start into the new week and greetins and hugs over to you

  4. Dear Riitta,
it's blooming, it's pure joy. It feels good and gives us joy of life and strength for the "grey" everyday life.
    Best regards

  6. ...beauty abounds in our neighborhood! I also see awful pruning (and I use the term loosely) jobs here, what are people thinking off! Thank Riitta for the visit, take care and stay safe.
