Puotila Chapel

Puotila Chapel is a small stone church in Puotila, Helsinki. The building was completed in 1859 as a grain magazine and converted into a church in 1963. The stone chapel served as the grain magazine of the adjacent Puotinkylä Manor since its completion. The building has two floors and has gothic windows.

The church planner was architect Tarja Salmio-Toivainen and on the altar there is a sculpture by Eino Räsänen. The present organ of the chapel is of early Finnish romance style and was completed in 2005. The chapel is one of the most popular wedding churches in Helsinki and Finland. The chapel has 155 seats.

I was married to my second & present husband in Puotila Chapel. Our wedding was small with only a few guests. It was end of June, the day was sunny and beautiful & white lilacs were blooming. I had white jacket & white miniskirt, long blond hair - and we were still so young ❤︎

    1. It is charming, but the isle is very short. The wedding march lasted and lasted, but we were at the altar in a minute :)

Schön, dass Du hier heiraten konntest.

  13. Beautiful chapel and beautiful memories! Mini-skirts may be out of fashion, but white lilacs will always be perfect! (I can nearly catch the beautiful scent by looking at your picture!). What a perfect wedding ... it was a great start.
