Japan born Helsinki entrepreneur Norio Tomida made a proposal in 2005
for the creation of the Roihuvuori Cherry Park. The Japanese community in Helsinki
donated the trees to the city of Helsinki as a sign of gratitude to the city.
By 2009 there were 152 cherry trees. The pink blossomed ornamental cherry trees
Prunus sargentii have since thrived very well in the park.
I & hubby visited on Monday morning because were afraid that the forecast thunder storm
would spoil all the fragile flowers. Not too much visitors, so it was lovely to stroll in the park.
We even saw a Cherry Princess with her maiden!

Such a beautiful park with an ornamental cherry - what a great project that was implemented. Wonderful, I'm thrilled. Thanks for the photos.
VastaaPoistaTällainen kaunis puisto, jossa on koristekirsikka - mikä loistava projekti on toteutettu. Ihana, olen innoissani. Kiitos valokuvista.
Greetings - Hilsener - Grüsse - Terveiset Viola :-))
Nice to get to know you Viola! This park is really beautiful, and great idea behind it. Mr.Tomida wanted to admire Hanami in Finland, too and he got it!
Poista...a beautiful addition to the city!
VastaaPoistaYes it is. Also very crowded on weekends.
PoistaOi, olette käyneet tuolla! Hyvin ajoitettu ennen iltapäivän ukkosta ja sadetta.
VastaaPoistaTaitavat kirsikankukat jäädä katsomatta tältä vuodelta, onneksi tuolla on tullut käytyä monta kertaa.
Kunhan syreenit puhkeavat kukkaan, tehdäänkö Longinojan lenkki?
Aamulla oli aivan pakko rynnätä ennen kirsikankukkasadetta. Jees, tehdään Longinojan reissu! On ollut aika paljon kevätpuuhia, mutta kohta helpottaa.
PoistaSo beautiful!
VastaaPoistaStunning photos - intoxicating views of the cherries in bloom.
VastaaPoistaThanks for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2021/05/i-can-fly.html
Wonderful photos
VastaaPoistaIt is so beautiful to see the sakura in bloom, I had the pleasure of being able to enjoy it a few years ago in Japan.
Must be a dream to stroll around there...never seen so many cherry trees like this. A good idea to visit it, and as I saw you also could see princess and co.
VastaaPoistaThanks for sharing, I enjoyed it.
What a wonderful location for wedding photos! In these days the weather has been quite good too.
VastaaPoistaThanks for sharing.

Kirsikankukkien kukinta on niin kaunista.
VastaaPoistaT. Täysin arkista
Wau, on se vaan kaunis!
VastaaPoistaViime vuonna kävin ekaa kertaa.
Oi niin kaunista!
VastaaPoistaSe ve precioso. Besos.
VastaaPoistaOnpa kaunis kirsikkapuisto! Ei tarvitse lähteä Japaniin tätä näkyä katselemaan!
VastaaPoistaThey are so lovely -- but, as you note, so fragile! So glad you got there before all the blossoms were blown off in a storm. (sometimes sidewalks here will be pink because they are covered with the fallen blossoms.) We don't have such a beautiful park (I wish we did) but there are many such trees planted along city sidewalks.
VastaaPoistaIch hatte das Glück zur Kirschblütenzeit in Südkorea zu sein. Die Kirschprinzessinen hatten sicher kalt an diesem Morgen. Eine kurze aber herrliche Zeit.

Gorgeous! I've seen the cherry blossoms in Washington DC. They have a festival with princesses too!
VastaaPoistaOh, wie schön! Erinnert mich an die Obstwiesen bei uns im Alten Land vor Hamburg -Stade.
VastaaPoistaFrohe Pfingsten wünsche ich Dir, Klärchen
