I did not know that Lily of the Valley is Finland's national flower. It's very pretty. I've tried growing it and something always eats the bulbs. This is an eXtra delightful post.
VastaaPoistaLily of the Valley as our national flower is a bit odd choice imo. I think it was selected in general public vote. Their Finnish name, KIELO, is also a traditional girl’s name that for some reason is also often given to amiable cows: DD

VastaaPoistaRitta, your garden is sooo pretty. I also have looked at your later post, it takes a lot of work to keep it nice. I like your Lily of the Nile. I don't know much about them, we have a small bed of three with two blooming blue blossoms. We brought a couple here from our other place when we moved five years ago. They are easy to care for. Have you seen pictures of our back yard? It was landscaped with roses, a lone orange hibiscus, oleanders red and pink. One palm tree to replace the three that froze and two tall blueberry bushes to replace the bottle brush trees that also froze. They are background for our pool.

Lilies of the valley are e X tremely beautiful I did not know that they are Finland's national flower. Poppies are happy to grow where want, but so happy to grow where you want.
