1. THE FINNSHEEP |
I made a day trip to the countryside in August and visited a sheep farm. The breed is called Suomenlammas / Finnsheep. Finnsheep is the original Finnish sheep breed that has adapted to the hard Nordic climate over several thousand years. It is an integral part of Finnish history, culture and identity.
The sheep were so cute! On this farm they are grown for wool not for meat. Finnsheep are usually white, but can also be brown or black. They give birth to numerous lambs at a time, their wool is soft and excellent and they are healthy & well adapted to our cold climate.

Wishing you lovely early autumn days!
Aren't those sheep so cute. I would love a pair of those cosy socks. Such beautiful sky pictures Riitta. Where I am at the moment the sky is cloudless. I do so love clouds :) B
VastaaPoistaThe sheep were really cute đ I admire the farmhouse lady - so much work with the sheep, pigs, chicken, garden, corn fields and running a lovely shop with homemade products!

Heidi
Vielen Dank Celine und Susi!
PoistaThat would be the kind of place I'd like to go. The sheep are just adorable.
VastaaPoistaThey were lovely indeed. Thank you for visiting Betty!
PoistaIhana, kaunis, pehmoinen, nostalginen, herkullinen postaus! :)
VastaaPoistaErityisesti ihastuttivat kauniit pihapiirit.
Tunnelmallista viikonloppua!
Maalla nÀkee kaikkea nostalgista. HyvÀÀ viikonloppua Sara.
PoistaNice! I love the sheeps on you photos. But that photo with the hand on the sheep is my favorite. Super!
VastaaPoistaThe hand belonged to the caretaker :) Have a great weekend Jedidja!
PoistaWhat a lovely rural post. Great idea to include clouds.
VastaaPoistaThey often look like sheep or cotton :)

Thank you Rita and Christine! When I was a child we had a few sheep and my mother got a lot of grey wool for socks :) Always my feet warm!
PoistaWhat a lovely post! The sheep have such wonderful faces and the socks look so warm. I love your photos of the sky and house and the apples look lovely and crisp:)
VastaaPoistaGood Afternoon Riita, I discovered your blog after visiting Amy from Love Made My Home and decided to pop over and visit you.
VastaaPoistaThe Finnsheep have such adorable faces, they are really cute. I love to see photographs of blue sky and clouds as I find the cloud formations fascinating, especially on a day like today when it is cloudy and grey here in England.
Have a lovely weekend Riita.
Best Wishes
Daphne

VastaaPoistaGorgeous looking sheep, what an interesting place to visit. Your photographs are wonderful.
VastaaPoistaBon weekend!
Brings back memories of the times I spent on my grandparents farm. Life is hard, but with lots of simple pleasures, like farm animals and food picked just before eating.
VastaaPoistaI loved learning about these Finnish sheep. And, you shared such beautiful photos of the countryside. I need to visit Finland! Now I'm off to find some Finnish yarn to knit with! Pat xx
VastaaPoistaAren't they beautiful! Great to be outdoors in the countryside. Enjoy your weekend.
VastaaPoistaI love the Finnish sheep, adorable and with a wonderful history. Every photo is a delight.
VastaaPoistaSo lovely sheeps with warm fur for cold climate... and my favorite photo is the sky with cloud-sheeps.
VastaaPoistaHave a nice weekend
Hello Riitta!
VastaaPoistaLovely all the sheep and the brown particularly attract attention.

VastaaPoistaThank you all for your visits and comments ♥♥ We have had so wonderful weather that I have been out in the garden for hours every day. So been a bit busy and not at my computer. Chat with you more later - please, forgive me!
PoistaDearest ritta K; How wonderful to know about your country's lovely 'Finnsheep'♪ They have adapted to the hard Nordic climate and also the integral part of your country's history☆☆☆
VastaaPoistaYou know what, I was born in the year of Japanese zodiac signs.

The site above can tell you all about it, and you can scroll way way down to the page for the each year with Kanji 'chinese caracter'. Haha, just in case and not trying to impose you, really :-)
Thank you so much for your sweet comment and sorry for my late visit.
Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear friend, xoxo Miyako*
Thank you so much for the link Miyako! I'm a tiger / tora:
PoistaPeople born in the year of the Tiger are sensitive, stubborn, short-tempered, courageous, selfish and slightly mean ... yet they are deep thinkers and are capable of great sympathy for those they are close to and love. All good but I don't consider myself mean :)
Best regards & hugs - enjoy your new week!
What beautiful animals those Finnsheep are - their heads are lovely. I laughed at the photo of them turning their backsides to the camera. Enough is enough!
VastaaPoistaBeautiful autumn scenes - the countryside, the apples - all lovely.
