Five on Friday

1
I read a brand new and very fascinating book Almost a Geisha by the Finnish professor and researcher Minna Eväsoja. She has spent over 20 years in Japan and studied tea ceremony in Kyoto and Japanese aesthetics at Kobe University. You can find my post here.

2
I was so thrilled about Japan and Hanami that I had to google some photos. This photo is borrowed online. Great soft pink & amazing beauty!

3
To Barbara's Paint Monthly I chose the Finnish painter Albert Edelfelt. He lived 1854 - 1905. More of him and his style you can read in my post.

4
Spring is definitely approaching! Small hints, flowering snowdrops... They made me so Happy!

My correspondent in Croatia let me use some of her photos. Elli is my dear daughter-in-law. This is the post I made...

Linking with Amy's Five on Friday

Have a lovely & sunny weekend you all!
We have had a cloudy and rainy week. But almost all snow has melted!

  1. Hieno postaus! Olisipa mukavaa, jos olisi tuollaisia kirsikkapuistoja lähiseuduilla...
Sää on tosiaan ollut melko pilvinen. Kevät edistyy nyt hitaasti mutta varmasti. :)
    Ihanaa viikonloppua!

    1. Netti on täynnään toinen toistaan ihanampia kuvia kirsikankukista. Eipä näitä meidän lähistölläkään näy... Helsingin vanhan messuhallin tienoilla on pari upeaa kirsikkapuuta, joita aina auton ikkunasta ihailen.

  2. One of my dreams is to visit Japan in springtime as well, I've been in August and it was beautiful. Ritta your snowdrop photographs are quite stunning.

  6. The snowdrops are beautiful. When we look into a flower centre it's like another universe. The book sounds interesting. Japanese cherry blossom is fabulous.....another world!

    Happy Weekend!

  12. The snow drops are stunning, I didn't recognise them as such at first because they are so unusual. Looking forward to our own cherry blossom season, it is soon here in Scotland. Not quite as awesome as the Japanese cherry blossom.
