Floral Bliss #45

I am hardly alive after four days at The Helsinki Book Fair. But slowly to my normal routine.
This week some summer memories.
Barcelona's La Rambla is a world famous walking street packed with people,
street restaurants and stalls selling many kinds of souvenirs.
There were also stalls selling seeds and flowers.

This cow was so cute, decorating the entrance of some shop!

October in Collage

Vietin neljä päivää Helsingin kirjamessuilla.
Aivan valtavasti hienoja ohjelmaosuuksia - enkä ole vieläkään toipunut!

I spent four full days at The Helsinki Book Fair. So many writers and interesting discussions.
I feel still exhausted, it seems that recovering takes a few days!

The Helsinki Book Fair

We have snow chaos in Helsinki, and also The Helsinki Book Fair.
This sweet young boy, Vilppu recited extracts from a book at the fair.
A becoming actor I suppose!

Weekend in Black & White

I'll add here some photos from the fair.
Am a bit busy now, shall visit you as soon as possible.
The Helsinki Fair Center is a big building, now filled with books.
The Book fair continues for four days, still two to go!
From morning till night books, discussions, writers and so on.
Very interesting and very exhausting too.

Palau de la música catalana

On tässä muutakin, mutta myös viivoja.
Kirjamessudarra - SusuPetalin sanoin :) - edelleen päällä,
muuhun ei ole jaksuja!

Still some photos of Barcelona. - Vielä Barcelonan lumoissa.

Palau de la Música Catalana is an impressive and highly decorated building, a real gem of the Catalan Modernisme. It was designed by the architect  Lluís Domènech i Montaner and was taken into use in 1908, after only three year's of construction. It is one of Spain's over 40 World Heritage sites. It can be visited on guided tours but most wonderful way to enjoy the building is of course to attend some performance of music or flamenco.

Palau de la Música Catalana on huikean koristeellinen rakennus, oikea Art Nouveau -tyylin helmi.

The roof mosaic window looks beautifully blue at night

Because of the numerous stained glass windows & floral motives & mosaics it seems always be summer inside!
Lukuisat lasimalausikkunat & kukkamotiivit & mosaiikit saavat aikaan ikuisen kesätunnelman.

I saw this performance - Historia de un amor / A Love Story, photo Palau

Historia de un amor / A Love Story
Opera y Flamenco tells the tormented love story of the dancers interpreted by their own souls, the soprano and the tenor. Sensual choreographies alternate with opera’s most famous arias (“Casta Diva” Norma by V. Bellini, Carmen by G. Bizet, Tosca by Puccini, Camille Sanit-Saëns, R. Leoncavallo,…) in a mixture of great artistic beauty between flamenco and outstanding lyric songs.

Artistic cast:
Musicians - Carlos Caro (violin), Martin Meléndez (cello), Jacobo Sanchez (percussion), David Granato (piano)
Guitar - Santiago Amaya “El Tati”
Opera Singers - Soprano: Alina Furman; Tenor: Ezequiel Casamada
Flamenco Singers - Fefa Gómez, Luis “El Granaino”
Dancers - Lorena Oliva, Iván Alcalá, Pepe Flores
Stage Manager - Vanessa Galvez “La Lirio”

Photo Palau
I have attended a performance at Palau three times: twice flamenco and this time an opera & flamenco performance. Unfortunately it was not allowed to photograph during the performance, so only photos of the architecture. What do you think? In my opinion less decorations could have been better.

Until the next time, hope you enjoyed! - Seuraavaan kertaan, toivottavasti piditte.

Floral Bliss #44

We have had our first frost nights and beautiful, sunny & dry days.
The weather forecast promises snow for Thursday, we'll see...
Our car has got its winter tyres, so snow would be okay for me!
Not much Floral Bliss any more, only some color in Callunas and Sedums.

Dear friends,
I'm behind in visiting & commenting because
I have ran out of time and energy - maybe lack of daylight or coming flu?
I 'll be busy from Thursday till Sunday too for we have
The Helsinki Book Fair. I do hope I'll survive!
Shall visit you as soon as possible.
